ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Annapolis, Md., police said a 13-year-old student is accused of threatening to recreate the Columbine school shootings.

Police were called to the school when the principal at Saint Martin's Day School heard that the student was planning an attack.

A search of the student's home turned up homemade guns, paintball guns and papers with violent images on them.

Officer Kevin Freeman said it does not appear that students at the school were in imminent danger. He said the student was trying to recruit other students from the school to participate.

The student was arrested and charged with disrupting school activities. He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation. END

My daughter goes to Santana High School here in San Diego and has several friends that attend Granite Hills so I have alittle experiance dealing with the feelings of a school shooting and I think that this boy should never had been discussing this with anyone but the simple fact that he talked instead of acted screams out ,cry for attention!!! I think that tossing in the fact that the boy had " paintball guns and papers with violent images on them" in his home, come on??? Are we not allowed to have these things??? What a crock!!!!

I think that by "threatening to recreate the Columbine school shootings" he got into trouble. It was not the violent images and paint ball guns.

Most of us know better than to make terroristic threats which are illegal.

Thought police anyone...that Tom Cruise movie--Minority Report--comes to mind.

Violent images?! Oh the horror!!
I think I'll go see the latest hollywood movie...you know, the one with all the violent images...

I'm not sure if he meant to copy the killings and actually kill people or somehow do a reenactment like they do of Civil War battles...
Preferably the latter, but that's still a bit messed up.

So if i were to make a movie about the Columbine shootings would I also get charged with "recreating" them?

Oh wait, it looks like he was actually charged with this:
The student was arrested and charged with disrupting school activities.

Disrupting school activities, thats a criminal charge? Do they nail God for this everytime they get a snow day?

That school is right down the road from us.....have to wait until tomorrow to see what the local rag has to say about it.

Hmmm... maybe they should have charged any girls wearing short skirts with the same, back when I was in? I mean, they were distracting, so MY school activities were disrupted... :neener:
