Hi,
I have a spring airgun and the screws keep working loose. I'd like a solution to keep them in without resorting to loc-tite, because I need to remove the screws occasionally for cleaning.

Is teflon tape considered an acceptable solution, or is there the risk that it will mess up the threads of the tapped hole?
Thanks.

Use BLUE loc-tite. Teflon tape is a sealant for pipe fittings to prevent liquids from seeping past the threads not for securing screws. Blue Loc-tite is designed to be used on screws that are to be removed.

Yep!

Be sure and de-grease the holes & threads with alcohol on a Q-Tip.

Then a drop of Blue #242 Lock-Tight will do it while still allowing easy removal with normal tools..
