I found a dud round someone left at the range yesterday. KYNOCH and 577/450 are stamped on the rim. Looks like a 30-30 round with a long neck on steroids. It is a rimmed case about 2 1/4" long. Approximately 50 cal bullet, solid lead with what looks like orange paper between the lead bullet and the cartridge mouth. The cartridge is about 3/4" in diameter at the rim. Stays that way for 1 1/4" then tapers down with a 1" long neck.
This is a new one for me. Any history would be appreciated.
