My problem is that I can't decide which stock I want for my M1A loaded. I am trying to make it into a DMR/Spotter rifle. So which stock should I get? the EBR or the JAE-100 and why do you favor one over the other? thanks

Not that I have either, but the JAE-100 looks like the better platform for accuracy.

The almost-skeleton-like EBR looks like it wouldn't shoot as comfortably and the retracting stock wouldn't be as stable.

Most of the designated marksman rifles I have seen pictures of sport plain fiberglass USGI stocks.
All have also had strap on nylon cheekpieces attached to the buttstock.

Go to Fred's and pay very little for a stock that will never change in size, no matter how hot, cold, humid or dry it is. It is the basis of consistent shooting.

I went with the Sage EBR stock. I couldn't be happier with it. Optics mount easily, stock adjs are solid and repeatable. Group size was reduced by about one half inch with SA ammo. Getting the rifle fitted into the stock took some time and care but anyone who can correctly take care of a M1a should be able to do the job. The rifle fits into the stock TIGHTLY, contacting it in two places only, the new bolted in barrel block/op rod guide and the receiver. Recoil is easier to handle with the inline stock and weight shift slightly forward. You can watch bowling pins fall at 200 yards through your scope. Nice set up. Glad I spent the money.
