I'll vote for bugging out with a group and farming/trading. I'm gonna assume a scenario where, during the first couple of months, I'd shelter in place and then bugout as the situation showed no signs of getting better. Flexibility will always be the key. I'm prepared to bug, but I won't be fleeing in panic either. The only scenario I can think of that would result in a need to bugout without delay and without making contact with other people would be a doomsday plague of some type. Other than that, I'd stick with my friends in our mountain man club (name not mentioned here for obvious OPSEC reasons) and our local SASS group (lots of us are in both) and bug out in an organized fashion.
Although we have no formal plan of action, those who live nearest would probably go to our site, set up, and organize parties to assist other members in getting there, acting much like the tribe we consider ourselves to be (don't ask, it's a sekrit Mountain Man initiation and I can't say anything about it here).
There's enough military, backwoods and hunting experience that we'd be able to get that part of the job done. There's a broad enough skill base that we'd probably have lots of services to trade as well as being able to hunt and farm. We have some doctors and nurses, a dentist, law enforcement, a blacksmith, etc.
The only trouble would be that it would take *very* bad scenario to pull most of us away from our normal duties in the community.
