Well written article.

I might take exception about the paragraph considering the usefulness of pistols though. There has allways been, and I believe allways will be, circumstances where the pistol excels and nothing else is quite so good. (Of course, AP-capability with current ammo is an issue.) Also, there can be other soldiers than SF-troops that are proficient with pistols. Unlike in the British Army (from what I hear.. ), other military forces may actually have all kinds of soldiers who are able to, and will practice with pistols.
