And this is the results.Used by K31 with the diopter sights. It shoots better so it seems with GP11.PP ammo has done decent in my other milsurps but pitting it against the GP11 in this K31 showed a noticeable change.

On both targets the lonely hole on each group was me,I jerked as I shot and knew I did.And the other target, shot 4 shots and looked through the scope, and there were 6 hits:cuss:,some moron shot my target arggggghhhh!!!!So I stopped shooting that target.Oh and the rear bag was just used to rest the rifle when I wasn't shooting,I shot with it shouldered. The black bulls is 6 inches diameter.Didn't measure the groups but you can what is what.

To Dr.Tad

Just a quick Hijack,
Dr. Tad, Old Fella on the last page of the model 39 thread has a link to an auction on a M39 tds if you are still looking for one.
I tried to bring it over but it would not copy, it is the top one.

I'm sure it is capable of more Hoppy,I have seen other members post tighter groups with it.I just wanted to see how PP might do compared seeing as how PP is about the only commercial made ammo out there right now other than GP11.It wasn't intention to judge GP11,but more to judge the PP ammo,so I know if I want to use it in the future.

I never feel comfortable with the stock design on a K31.It is accurate rifle though overall.I can only say I'm satisfied overall with my K31's that they shoot usually within the 10 and X ring while not using a scope.I only shot 10 rounds of the PP,next time I'll shoot the other 10 rounds in my other K31 and see what happens.

It would add to the thread if others would post their findings with PP ammo in a K31.This is what I did yesterday,if others post results with PP ammo it might add to a more final conclusion on PP ammo.:D

GP-11 Brass Wanted

Any of y'all got empties from your GP-11 excursions you'd like to get rid of? Drop me an email; I'm looking to acquire a bunch.

I haven't tried PRVI yet, but I'm able to keep GP11 in groups under 2" at 100 yards using the iron sights. Someday I'll have to scope it and find out what it's really capable of. About 2 MOA is all I'm capable of using irons though.

Wait, what are you going to do with a bunch of fired berdan-primed brass?

There is a method for converting them to boxer primers. Basically you remove the Berdan primer, drill a hole through the bottom of the case and then using a hammer and a ball bearing you give the primer pocket a whack and deform it enough to grip a Boxer primer. It sounds kind of half assed, but people report that it works well.

elmer fudd got it

Yup, he's entirely correct. I work on a ship, and have access to an adequately stocked machine shop. It gives me something to do on the 12 hours a day I have off.

Well today I got around to trying PP ammo in another of my K31's.Did a volley of 10 with GP11 and PP and here is the results. The last time with my other K31 posted above, the PP stringed in group and I think now that was definately me,not the rifle or ammo. That diopter sight did make my eyes squint after a while so that may be it.

But today with just the regular iron sights both ammo performed about the same except the group shifted some with PP.So I dunno,GP11 is obvioulsy excellent ammo, but the PP doesn't seem bad either. You guys who scope your K31 or and are better shots than me must get incredible accuracy from it.No doubt the K31 is accurate rifle for a mil-surp,but I still don't like feel of the stock compared to other types. But at least I know now that if I can only get PP ammo it will perform decent (for my expectations).
