I want to head down to Texas on a low budget hog hunt - no guide. Where to start? I'm hoping there are some Texans on here with some pointers on locations.

I'm not a Texan, but have hog hunted there without a guide & not a whole lot of expense.
Find a landowner & work out a "deal".Internet is what worked for me.
I was very pleased with the outcome!
I hunted in Houston county, just a bit west of Crockett National Forest.

Do some googling. The outfitters are everywhere. There's all sorts from hunting with dogs to on your own to with a guide, whatever suits you. Hogs can still be had cheap. Deer....not so much.
