Hi,

I currently have an M&P 40. I use it for IDPA as well as my CCW. I have a set of trijicon night sights on it right now, green front with white outline and yellow rears.

I'm thinking of changing just the front sight to a Truglo Tritium Fiber Optic sight. The reason is, that in action shooting like IDPA I find myself looking over the front sight and not focusing on it adequately with just the tritium in broad daylight. This manifests itself in a tendency to shoot low. I feel like having just the TFO on the front would help me focus on the front sight in daytime, while still maintaining usability at night.

A friend of mine has TFO fronts and rears on a glock and it feels like the rears are a bit overpowering with those double fiber optic tubes. Does anyone think this would work okay, or is it a bad idea?

I have a Sig P226 Blackwater with rear night sights and front TFO works very well. However, I don't shoot the P226 andy better than I do my guns with Trijicons on front ad rear.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm dead on with my trijicons in slow fire, one ragged hole at 10 yards, etc....it's just that in IDPA style shooting I often find it hard to really focus on that black post front sight in broad daylight during quick shooting; by comparison the guns with FO front sights seem much easier to acquire in transition. Maybe the TFO would help that. Either way it doesn't sound like it'll make things any worse!
