Man charged over agent's death

A 20-year-old student has been charged with murdering a literary and film agent, who represented clients behind movies The Full Monty and Billy Elliot.

Rod Hall, 53, was found dead in his flat in Prioress Street, Southwark, south London, last Sunday night.

A post-mortem showed that he died from stab wounds to the chest and stomach.

Usman Durrani, who lives in Hallywell Crescent, East Ham, east London, will appear before Camberwell Green magistrates on Monday.

Among Mr Hall's clients were Simon Beaufoy and Lee Hall, who wrote the film box office hits The Full Monty and Billy Elliot.

Both were nominated for Oscars in the original screenplay category.

Thank goodness the murderer didn't have a gun!

On a sadistic note, I'm kinda happy that we have gun homicides here, as opposed to these other types of non-firearm homicides. The non-gun homicides are a lot messier. ( i hope i didn't word that wrong). I'd rather see a body that was shot, than a body that was stabbed or beaten to death. Of course, the best would be to not see a body at all.
