Thank you ABC news for a stunning propaganda piece.

It makes for a dandy argument about the pathetic failures of both California's gun control policies and their attempts to control the gangs that now seem to be firmly in control.

A hundred years ago, the gangs would likely get sorted out by the citizenry when appointed law enforcement proved ineffective.

What would happen if Californians armed themselves to the teeth and declared an unofficial open season on anyone wearing gang colors or tats? There was a very informative piece I read recently about several Mexican border towns, disgusted with the brutality of the cartels operating on their side of the border, having a sudden surge in unsolved homicides where the victims were "known gangmembers, easily identified by their facial tattoos."

"ATF agents are up against an arsenal of semi- and fully automatic weapons that go right through Kevlar body armor."

That's pretty impressive: I have never seen, nor even heard of, a firearm that will penetrate body armor. Bullets, yes, firearms, no.

What's easier? Converting one of the civilian ARs to full-auto or buying full-auto weapons from a South American/Middle Eastern/Asian arms merchant? Is it as easy as getting them from the corrupt Mexican government?

The problem is that we declared a war on drugs and now we're upset the other side has fielded an army to fight it. The cartels and quite probably tens of thousands of Mexican, Central and South American (and quite a few American) citizens have built a huge shadow economy on our demand for marijuana, cocaine and other drugs. They have millions (billions?) of dollars to spend on arms and foot soldiers while drug use has become so accepted here that even the redneck comedians joke about it. All three of our most recent Presidents used at least marijuana.

What the media and BATFE ought to be worried about is not the relative trickle of guns that go south, it's the raging river of dollars that allow the guns to be bought.

Yes, there have been some reprisals but they weren't because of the drugs, they were because of the spillover of violence into the everyday lives of Mexican citizens, a strategic error on the part of the drug lords. There are still plenty of places where the cartels are at least respected, if not considered heroes.

This isn't an issue of guns or stolen cars, its an issue of unsecured borders.

The guns are being used as a pawn to get support for tighter gun laws and bans. Fear is a great motivator for the sheep of the world.

Might as well lock the thread as they have taken the video off youtube. Never mind. Looks like it was just moved.

Well, I didn't get to see the video because it had already been removed by the user. However, my guess would be that ABC hadn't bothered to tell the truth on how those rifles were attained. They want us to believe that Joe Schmoe snuck thousands of rifles into Mexico from the US. I believe that like I believe I just purchased ocean-front property in Kansas.

The History channel made it clear on how they are attaining their full-auto rifles. Our government is training and equipping their police and military. Once trained they have all that equipment at hand. The drug cartels, however, are offering the Mexican cops and troops greater amounts of money than the Mexican government can offer. Plus, there is tremendous risk being a police officer in Mexico. One police chief didn't even make it 24 hours as chief before he was gunned down. Therefore, switching sides is not uncommon at all.

I have no doubt that a few rifles off the streets of bordering states may make it across into Mexican drug cartel hands. However, the numbers that we are led to believe are extremely misleading. The greater percentage of American full-auto rifles are supplied by our own government as we train their police and military.

Something to ponder: Why would the Mexican drug cartels purchase our semi-auto AK's and have to spend the time converting them into full-auto AK's, when they have the ability and the money to purchase the real deal from China, Mid-East, etc.?

You have to just accept the liberal puke media is by and large against firearms, the military, YOUR right to free speech, etc... The papers in WV had a front page article where they showed a big graphic of how drug dealers in Minnesota were trafficking drugs into West Virginia and using them to buy guns because WV had such lax gun laws it was easy to buy them here and bring them back to Minnesota. Never mind the EXACT SAME FEDERAL LAWS govern sales in both states. Minnesota is slightly more stringent in the fact you have to get a permit to buy every few years but they make it sound like Minnesota makes it illegal to sell guns to drug dealers but its legal in WV. It illegal in BOTH states idiots. Straw gun purchases are illegal in BOTH states idiots. The truth will never stop the media from pushing its agenda on YOU. if you think otherwise you are seriously fooling yourself.

The misleading of the public is one of their greatest talents. Release a lie and the majority of sheeple will take it as "absolute truth", then they are controlable. Fear monger the people, and some of them will thank you.
