I used to have a .41 magnum full size that was easy enough to handle but it about ruined my ears. MAKE SURE you use ear protection! I didn't at times and am now paying for it.
Congratulations. However, on a personal note, I keep guns and ammo totally removed from my Christmas wish list. That's just me, something I feel strongly about, keeping weapons away from any sacred ceremony, holiday, or spiritual worship.
Shootingthebreeze, so you don't use a knife to cut the birthday cake
Please don't be THAT guy. The one who tells you he is a vegan cause he thinks eating meat is murder...when you didn't even ask what he thinks on the subject.
Nice palm pounder by the way. Lets see a range report soon!
clifford, my opinion is just mine and anyone can do whatever they want and I support their decision; just that a weapon, (a firearm to be precise) and ammo just don't find themselves wrapped under my Christmas tree.
I own weapons and have a CCW-and have nothing against weapon ownership; I'm happy for RIC. My comment was just mine only and my quirky feelings about weapons and Christmas gifts.
Riphalman, I couldn't agree more. In my family guns aren't simply defensive weapons. They are tools for hunting, sporting and some are considered works of art.
In our home, we have gifted our children and grandchildren with firearms from the age they were capable of handling a firearm. I have recieved my finest guns from my wife of 45 years for almost every Christmas we have been together.
Never have made the association that there could be something wrong with that though... learn something new every day. Most of my church buddies and I get together on the 26th every year and brag about the neat guns we got.
Man, I like my snubbies, (I have 4) but a 44 mag in a snub?
I think that would be a bit too much for me,
or at least I'd be shooting 44 spl a lot more than 44 mag!
Your 2 5/8" PC629 UDR looks great. The gap in the Eagle boot grips just behind the trigger guard seems typical of many of the UDR's such grips. S&W will exchange them - they did so for both of my pair of similar PC627's, bought 4/10 & 10/10. Actually, the replacement grips for the 10/10 purchase actually fit perfectly. Still, they were uncomfortable - even with .38 Specials - too small - I prefer more to hold on to. Realizing that at it's size, it won't be a pocket gun, anyway. So - on with larger grips for mine.
With mild .44 Specials, they would seem a must - for Magnums, wow! Congratulations!
