I work on a boat so I am away from home 30 days at a time. our boat has wifi but goes though a company firewall so looking at guns or ordering cigars is blocked but thanks to the high road I can come to this site all the time. I am not sure if it's the .org and not the .com eather way I can still get my share of "gun porn"

And in about a month they'll fix that little hole in the firewall...

Glad to here it though. My job blocks every single website that is not work related. I can't even go to google, wikipedia, or any news source.

You need a proxy!

Try getting a portable proxy for use off a portable flash/"thumb" drive. When you run the software, it routes your IP address through another server, allowing you unblocked access to the internet.

If you need help finding software, I might be able to email it to you. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Note: I do not know what your company policy is on proxy-use, but I know that many would be upset.

My wife's work has extreme filters...

She had an E-mail flagged for a large volume of obscene content, an automatic reply that her e-mail had to be read by Corporate HQ and a decision made as to her continued employment once they did.

The content of the letter used the medical terms for both male and female genitalia many times.

The letter was a Medical form, produced by the State of Oregon, including hundreds of listed conditions and their attendant body part, specifically regarding the claims work my wife does.

Obviously, nothing came of it once HQ actually put a Live person on the mail and saw it was part and parcel of the job, using state created forms.

Most of the websites are filtered out as well, including ones regarding anatomy. The office handles Workmen's Comp injuries. The wiser employees use their personal Android phones anytime they have to research lesser known conditions and medical procedures for approval.

"Common sense" is rarely common or sensible.
It's just better to expect every keystroke, every website, even the amount of time between clicks is reported directly to IT.
