A couple weeks ago I got hammered by fellow members for seating on the lands with my favorite bullets so I skeptically went along, seating out .030" for this morning's shoot. Well I'll be... darned if they don't shoot better! Just a word of thanks to members for advice on this issue.

Equipment: Rem 700 in .223 Rem w/pac-nor 30" bbl, Nosler cases, CCI#400 primer, 55gr Nosler ballistic tip, 27.46gr H-Varget (scale weighs in grams)

Velocity:
3354
3490
3502
3492
3484
3458
3472
3500
3475
3462

Photo of this group from 300 yd. Round black pasters were used to cover numbers which are hard to distinguish from holes at this range so target kind of messy, but it comes in at just under 1 moa from a cold start, plenty good enough for me. Thanks again to members for valued insight. WIN_20171118_11_56_23_Pro.jpg

I'm fairly sure you meant the scale weighs in grains. 27.46 grams of powder is just short of a full ounce of powder.

That ammo looks like it shoots very well. It's great when you find a good load to shoot. Way to go!

Yep the collective knowledge on here is awesome. Keeping an open mind that a fellow reloader has BTDT already and is just trying to save you some heartburn is always something to keep in mind.:) All this while keeping in mind that others results will vary. Like the threads on crimping the bullet in or not--or even using the Lee FCD for accuracy.:p I will often try different ideas suggested if my results are not what I wanted as well. Never too old to learn something new.
