That was weird

Having read all this and being the guy that was there. The fellow(s) must have realized it was not copasetic, for I did not hear it again and they probably thought my rattly cart covered the noise. I made a point to look oblivious. But for the record, it was not a 22LR pistol, those slides don't have that heavy sound like a 9mm or larger pistol.

And BTW, I did not mean to leave this out, but Bi-Mart is a local store that is Sporting Goods oriented, they don't sell pistols, but do rifles, ammo, fishing, camping, paint, toaster ovens, snacks and so on. Like a WalMart w/o the grocery side, but much smaller.

I suspect this is why it did not bother me too much, but still raised the hackles a bit. Anyone handling a gun in public would make you more aware and careful regardless of intent simply because its a gun, and that is how I chose to react. I readied myself, but still acted none the wiser.

Hindsight being what it is, I suspect they would have apologized, said "yeah, that was dumb, sorry." My wife would have been chewing my ear to go because I would have started chatting guns with these two and you know how time warps when you are doing that with like minds.....like now :D

And on that note, I was in Bi-Mart again today asking a few questions regarding hunting tags and rubbed shoulders with a senior citizen wearing an NRA-ILA hat. The environment of the store (sells long guns, hunting/fishing liecenses) is something I did not provide to the initial post. Had this been at one of the blissninny mega malls on the West side of Portland, my response would have likely been much different since none of them even sell matches.

No harm, minor foul, but these two cats did not deserve a call to the law. I suspect they were bored and waiting for wives or camping/hunting partners is all.
