A THR member posted pics of his Mark III Colt wearing some custom stocks he had purchased and I asked if he wanted to sell the original ones he took off. He did, and they were just what I needed to complete this Colt Metropolitan.
The Metro was made in the early 1970s and was really the last of Colt police duty revolvers made. It was similar to the Official Police Mk III except for a much heavier barrel (the better to subdue unruly drunks, maybe).
I got this one a year or so back off an auction site for $150. It looked almost unused but arrived with no stocks. It looks much better now wearing some pants.
Thanks to the helpful THR member whose name I won't reveal because I don't have his permission. He can reply and ID himself if he chooses.
