Gimmie all ya got: love her, hate it, round count, the works.

Academy is selling them for $349 which is relatively cheap in the immediate area, though for all I know it's highway robbery.

I wrote up an early one for American Handgunner. They usd Lou Ferigno for a model (Incredible Hulk). That one worked well and I have a friend who has had one since just about the beginning. His still works.

Well, it may be theoretical highway robbery, but that's about the price I saw them for this morning over at Carter's Country. So comparatively, it's not.

It's a nice gun...but I fired one shot from it and needed six stitches in the webbing between my trigger finger and thumb. I had too high of a grip and that razor sharp slide did a number on me.

I got one for my wife (she picked it out) when she got her carry permit.

It's a reliable gun, and we both like the "breech action" the barrel has. For what it is (pocket-sized .32 "hold out"), it's pretty nice. It fits both my and her hand reasonably well (nothing too awkward - I have big, long hands, and she has petite child hands).

My only complaint, really, is the trigger/recoil slap. On recoil, my finger (and IIRC my wife's) will get slapped/pinched between the trigger and the bottom of the trigger guard. I think this partially due to the pistol's trigger/trigger guard design, and partially due to the short pistol grip prohibiting a firm grip. I've little experience shooting such small guns, so i couldn't say if it's particular to the tomcat, or if it's something that all such small pistols have, but I've never seen anything quite like it with larger framed pistols.

IIRC the earlier models have had some problems with cracked frames, though I believe the new INOX frames fix this. I found mine to be functional but too small for my mits.

easy carry

I carry mine in thunderwear or in a pocket holster that makes it look like I am carrying a wallet in my back pocket. 7 rounds. not my primary if I can comfortably wear my Kimber or EAA.

Tomcat

I had one for a little while, got it for the girlfriend to use. She thought it was cute, I guess it was. The double action trigger was pretty hard for her. And after about 200 rounds it went to hell. The slide would come off the rails and jam really hard. It wasn't a reliable carry gun and went back. Just one example, may have been a fluke.

I had one last month for exactly one day. I was warned, warned, and then warned again not to buy one, but I did anyway.

It lasted exactly 20 rounds before the trigger became disconnected from the trigger bar.

The Tomcat is Beretta's red headed stepchild, I wouldn't take one as a gift.

Why not wait a bit for a .380 in the Ruger LCP?
Academy has placed an order and is awaiting delivery. Price $289.95.

I like mine...

I've put about 175 rounds through it. No problems except the rear sight was loose when I bought it. A little locktite fixed that.

I've read others mention that if it's needed in a defensive scenario, go for face shots because good COM penetration may be difficult.

Hate it,the wife was using it as a 'bug' and only after 250 rounds over the last few months the inside frame just above the trigger group broke out completely.Waiting for Beretta to send it back but I feel its 'unreliable' and the .32 rounds are awfully expensive.

If any notice the 'hard slide' pull keep checking the frame...seriously.Otherwise the wife thought it was a convenient and easily hidden 2nd carry, but now its the feeling dont rely on it.

Had one of the blued 'alley cat' models, first trip to the range, it broke-jammed up tight. Sent it back to Beretta. Got it back three weeks later, first trip to the range, it broke.
Shop took it back for a refund.
Bought another one a while later, ( I don't learn quick, I guess), this one is stainless.
I've got a few hundred trouble free rounds through it, it's reliable and nice shooting.
