Let me start this by saying I have a Les Baer 1.5"G Premier II and an STI Spartan. So I have some experience with 1911's. Both are bullseye guns as that's what I'm interested in and compete in.
Now, over this last week I picked up a Pardini GT-45. I have to say, this gun is OUTSTANDING. If you've never heard of Pardini, they make the pistols that are generally used by all the competitors in the Olympics in the rapid fire event. They also make a line of pistols oriented towards defensive work / action-pistol games.
First thing that's great about the GT-45; it holds 10 rounds. That's perfect for a lot of action-pistol games and the grip isn't that thick. Second thing, ambi-controls for the mag release and safety; not a big deal for everyone, but nice if you like to use your right hand fingers to release the mag rather than reaching around the grip.
But the best part of the gun is the trigger. Now to give you an idea, my STI has a 4.5lb pull and my Les Baer came used setup with a 1.75lb pull eek but passed all the safety checks. I have since upped the Les Baer to 3.5lb for competition via a Wolff sear spring. And I have shot Nighthawks and some other high-end 1911's, so I know they all have great triggers.
The GT-45 trigger puts every 1911 I have ever felt to shame. The GT-45 is much more of a target trigger, with a two-stage feel and is fully adjustable via screws (as opposed to bending sear springs). The trigger is just great, very consistent, very predictable.
The accuracy is very good. The GT-45 doesn't use a bushing, its got a bull-barrel style lockup with the slide. It has a ramped barrel so it should feed HP and SWC loads well although I just tried it with 230 FMJ.
All in all, the Pardini GT-45 is the best 45 I have ever shot. It has the accuracy required to hold the 10-ring at 50 yards while at the same time offering what I feel are substantial improvements over the 1911 trigger.
If you ever get a chance to try one out, I highly recommend it. I am very happy with mine.
