Guys. Rarely do I resort to anything stronger than Mpro7 when cleaning firearms.

The other day I used some bore cleaner to remove copper fouling. I have used both copper core, nylon brushes, a brass/bronze jag, and a steel "loop" type patch puller to introduce this solvent. I do realize that the solvent will take a trace of metal off of all of the rod accessories but for the last.

Is there a better method?

Thanks.

I use Hoppe's Benchrest in my bolt guns. I use a bore guide and run a wet patch thru from the back. After sitting overnight, follow up patches will come out green from the copper.

I've had less trouble with nickel-plated jags. These aren't as common as the brass type, but they are available from various sources such as Midway, Brownells, etc.
