This is my most recent piece for Buckeye Firearms. A little different than the gun rights pieces I have done in the past. This is about the 1911 pistol that got me interested in military firearms and the man who brought it home after the Punitive Expedition in Mexico, my great grandfather's youngest brother. I hope you will enjoy this piece as I have stewed on it for thirty years.

A Colt 1911 from 1918, close but no cigar.:(

Great read gopguy, I too have had things bought out from under me. Not easy to get over.

D*mn! When I was in 3rd Grade, an antique store had a 12 pdr Napoleon cannon that looked like it just came out of an arsenal. The huge wood spoke wheels and carriage looked like they were made yesterday. The barrel was pristine (or so it seemed to a young child). It was only $119.95 and I had the money. My parents said, "No." To this day, I still regret not buying that cannon.
