"The Day the Earth Stood Still" slam on gun ownership

Most people seem to get their worldview from the press, TV, and movies...

Right, and when I talk to these people, I use facts, experience and the truth. Messes with their heads but good. Just because many choose ignorance, it doesn't mean you or I have to. Movies are entertainment and ought not be confused as anything else. Even crappy ones like that unnecessary remake can amuse, but not do much else.

I haven't seen the movie, and after an ***NPR*** reviewer slammed it, I won't be.

A lot of this anti-gun owner stuff seems to be boilerplate, like racial stereotyping in '30s and '40s movies. It seems as formulaic as portraying Black people as being lazy, stupid and afraid of ghosts. It's almost as though it comes off of a checklist.

"Keep the racism on stormfront please" Seriously, did he say anything bad about blacks and jews? Some people simply like their own kind better. Does that make them criminals? Some people own guns. Does that make them criminals?:uhoh:

Yeah

Heard this movie got cut to pieces in every review - even from the reliably liberal MSM. It must have been REAL crummy to make such a clean sweep.
