Ok, I hate agonizing about this, but...

Found a Browning-marked Hi-Power Mark III in a 9, assembled in Portugal, for $475 NIB at the Charlotte Gun Show. :uhoh: Now I've wanted one of these for some time.

The problem is, I've bought two rifles and a snubbie last week. I mean, this has to stop!

But, then again, no missus.

Any good reason why I shouldn't buy #4?

By the way, met Langenator (Capt. Langenator, USA Infantry, that is) and his wonderful wife (a shooter with her own SKS and Kimber) at the show. Just great folks. Now, if I could only find a female shooter my age.

In a word, no

What!! Tryin' to take away my GUNS!! Well I'll show you!! I'll just run out and by that piece of Browning legend!! :fire:

Ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do!!

Ahhh, that felt good!

Much obliged, all, and to you, gunfan, sometimes no is just the right trigger for this contrarian. :D :D (But you already knew that.)

Now -- if the weapon is still there... :uhoh:

The Resolution

Ok, with my mind firmly made up, I went back to the show...

The weapon was still there...

and just for that final check, "This is NIB, right?"

A quiet shake of the head. :(

I thought long and hard, and made a counter of $450. "Nope, it's on consignment and he won't go lower than $475."

I really don't like buying used when going with a modern weapon still in production.

I took a pass. I'd rather spend another $100 and break in the weapon myself.

But the upside... It's still on my list and I still get to look forward to finding that "deal".

And, I stopped by Georgia Arms and picked up another 550 rounds for my new S&W 642. :D

The world is good.
