I asked that a couple years ago but I don't remember the reply. It's not a 29 I do remember that and I'm 99% sure it's a smaller framed .357. Smaller than a N-frame I mean.
I think the camera angles make the muzzle (and the gun) look larger than it really is.
A sidebar on that movie: I always enjoy watching just one scene in that movie; the confrontation with the bikers in the desert. The motorcycle gang is mostly a bunch of extras, with there choppers, that stand around and watch as the actors play out the scene. One of those guys was a good friend of mine in highschool, who moved to Las Vegas, after graduation, got a chopper and joined a club. He is the one with longhair, beard and a stupid grin on his face.
It is a model 19 2.5" nickel .357. When I met Clint when he came to a ranch I was on in Big Sur I told him I carried one like that- for the Feds. Clint used to be quite the gun guy until his liberal wives tempered him back to fairly PC.
