Hmm, well, I traded off my big contender back to my Dad for some more interesting items. It was a Weatherby 340 with some beautiful wood. Also there was the Browning High-Wall in .30-06 with some truly gorgeous walnut.

Now my top contenders are my A-Bolt Eclipse w/BOSS in .308 and my S&W 646.

Aya

1994, first and only trip to Europe. Drove from Frankfurt to Eibar,Spain. Wifes passport stolen in France, the whole family detained by the Federal Police in Eibar. Were finally escorted to the AYA factory. Bought a 20 ga. SxS with detachable side locks. Left town and drove to the CZ Republic. Two weeks later landed in SF and the gun was waiting for me in the United Airlines custom warehouse. It hasn't been out of my sight or gun safe since and I've killed just about everything that flies with it.

I got lucky in the last of the CMP lotteries.
Yeah, it didn't come new in the wrapper, but I can shoot it!

That'd have to be Dad's 1920's vintage AH Fox Sterlingworth double 12. It's killed more pheasants than I can possibly visualize, and it's great fun to take it out every year and drop a few more. Then, when I'm at the counter back home swabbing it out with Hoppe's #9, I'm transported back 40 years to the kitchen in my folks' home, watching Dad thread the old brass rod together and getting a lesson on taking care of your equipment so it won't let you down.

In my gun cabinet resides, a, Pre- war Winchester Model 70, .30-'06 that I purchased at least 45 years ago for the price of $80.00.
The glass is a humble 4x Redfield.
To date, I have taken 31 Pa whitetail BUCKS with this rifle.
My Grandsons will inherit some legacy.
Regards, Zeke
