Yes there is/was a factory F/A Glock pistol. I can't remember the model (18 maybe). There is also a "factory" conversion. But of course you can't get one anymore, unless you're a dealer or a LEO...

The Glock 18 is a real production full-auto-capable gun, although what is shown in this video - I believe - is an aftermarket mod.
The stock 18 is hard to tell from a 17, except for the switch on the slide to choose full auto or single fire.

There's a little device I've seen that replaces the plate on the back of the slide and can convert any Glock to full-auto capability. Looks pretty neat, if it's true.

Kevlarman you hit the nail on the head if you look close at the video the Glock has the selector switch on the rear of the slide . I think thats the aftermarket conversion.

it only shows how well build a Glock is. a standard glock 17 is so strong it will even last after firing 1000's of rounds in full-auto. I don't think a 1911 can do that without breaking into several pieces

Actualy There was a 1911 or quite a few of them in the 1920's any way which were modified into full auto weapons. The said guns were know as "baby machine guns" They were made by taking a fore grip from a thompson submachine gun and attaching it to the front of the 1911 in front of the trigger guard were the dust cover is.
The barrel was also lengthend and was fitted with a componsater from a thompson SMG barrel lastly a 20 round extened magazine was added. AS far as the internal mods to convert I have no clue as to how this was managed. I am not a gunsmith But i would assume people back then made these at will being prior to the NFA act of 1934 there was no actual laws yet governing such things. Obviously the criminals of the day probably saw the advantage to such a weapon.
Whats curious is as far as I know none of these examples has survived except for one which I think was one display somewhere the national firearms museum maybe? One was suposedly left behind by john dillinger after a shoot out at the little boheamia lodge in indiana I think it was. If any were in private hands and registerd before may 1986 I would think it would command a high price. Does anyone know if there are any of these guns legaly transferable with a class 3 permit?

Yeah, but with 9mm, you need full auto. With a 45, you only need to hit the guy once with a take him down making a full auto 1911 redundant. I say again, redundant!
