My father loves a handgun that makes a loud, deep, rumbling KABOOM sound. He does not like a crack or pop. When we go to the gun shop, the owner jokingly will tell him 'nah, you won't like that gun, it doesn't have a high enough kaboom factor'. What common handgun has the highest kaboom factor?

TC Encore handgun in 45-70, the .50 S&W, the Freedom Arms in .475 Linebaugh, the FA in .454 Casull are all REEEEEAL CLOSE if not THERE!

454 Casull is like getting whacked with a 2x4 if you are next to and slightly behind the shoooter.

Anything shooting black powder.

Very satisfying on both the kaboom factor and the cloud of wicked smoke.

While the .454 does well - this lil' fella is a tad more ''boomy'' ....... long large cartridge - lower pressures ... a more ''laid back'' boom if you will  :p

Oh and - forget the ''Gov't'' bit - loading wants to be up around strong lever action levels ..... 30,000 or sl over. 41.5 grains reloader 7 shoving a 405 grn LaserCast fits the bill!
