I would like to eventually buy a rifle in this caliber.I would want it for long range target shooting,so a heavy barrel would be a nice option.Any suggestions ?

All i've found so far is the Remington 700 MIL for $1300.

Thanks ! :)

A bit more than the Remington, but Savage makes a tac rifle ready to go. Savage will also do custom orders.

That Savage Rifle looks sweet. For that round, you'd be prepared for just about anything. How much does it cost?

I love that-- the only proble is I could not afford to feed it! I do love the .338 Lapua Mag-- awesome round...

The cheapest 338LM that I've ever seen was a Sako TRGS. I couldn't imagine shooting that beast as it has a sporter contour barrel. I saw it for $600 at a local shop a few years ago.

The most inexpensive viable option is the Remington or the Armalite AR30.

I think the 338 RUM is ballistically equivalent.

It may have a less expensive option... perhaps for factory ammo too???

I paid $1175 for my rem 338 lm. It has a lot of features for that money in my opinion. I have been buying hornady brass for $30 per 20. Other than the initial cost of the brass and 95g of powder per shot it isn't so bad. The primers cost the same as for my .223's. Those 300g matchkings sure look awesome.
