How many folks here use the Lee liquid alox to lube their bullets? It seems to be about as easy as it can be to use (except for the drying time) as well as inexpensive.

But does it work well enough to make it worth always having "dirty" bullets?

I love it, myself. Much easier and works great. Wife don't like the smell, much, but I think it's kind of intoxicating. :D

I have used it on about 100K bullets. Search on my username and Lee Liquid Alox for details.

If you don't find what you are looking for let me know.

..............I use Lee TL on all my bore rider rifle bullets before their trip through the lube/sizer. Most all of the pistol slugs I shoot are TL'd. The one negative to the system is lube buildup in the seater die.

Slugs treated with TL should be kept in an airtight container (I use those inexpensive Glad or Ziploc containers).

I thin the TL with 50% paint thinner and then drop a lead RB in the bottle to use as an agitator. Shake to mix. I have a dedicated plastic container with a lid to lube bullets. Squirt in some TL, put the lid on and gently roll the container over and over. Pull the lid and dump out on waxed paper.

If you could lose the smell and sticky feeling mess...I'd use it. Otherwise, notta.

Got 3 bottles of the stuff just gathering dust.

lee liquid alox

I use the stuff. It works great. I put it in a plastic one pound butter container, and roll the bullets around and set upright on wax paper overnight to dry. As others have state, I put the lubed bullets in a ziplock bag, and then in a cardboard container. They stay clean. Actually , I like the smell of the stuff. Maybe because my wife does'nt.

SMELL?

All alox lubes smell the same. That smell means SHOOTING to me!:D

I've been using the lee system for some time. I even went to a procedure to coat only the driving bands on some 45-70 405 grainers by dipping them into the liquid alox, then setting them on wax paper to dry.

I tumble lube all my pistol bullets, even those NOT designed by Lee to be tumble lubed. I also recently went to the lee sizer system, much faster than the old lyman 450 sizer, and just as good!
