For as long as we have all been :cuss: and dis-:cuss: -in "The Media, I just got a breking news alert e-mail from the Commy News network....Don't have details yet, but those details will be available later.........

· New York Times announces resignation of Executive Editor Howell Raines, Managing Editor Gerald Boyd following Jayson Blair scandal.
Watch CNN or log on to http://CNN.com (AOL Keyword: CNN) for the latest news

Could "The Media" be starting to get it yet ? ? ? ?

After CNN's fiasco with the "assault weapons" about a week ago, I really don't trust them, but it is an interesting 'turn of the Worm'

UPDATE:

Just got a confirming breaking news alert e-mail from CBS @11:56AM Eastern Time. Looks like, though CBS news reporting is about as good as their proof-reading
Quote from news alert e-mail:

Executive Editor Howell Raines and Managing Editor Gerald Boyd have resign from New York Times.

WOW

I never thought that would happen. Now maybe NYT will again become the 'newspaper of record' instead of the wastepaper of record.

The Internet is the NYT's downfall. No way this would have happened 20 years ago. The problems at NYT would have been buried by the mainstream media (which was basically all there was back then). The Internet pounded this story over and over. NYT had to do something.

I'd have to disagree here Partisan Ranger. Rival newspapers love to cover the faults of their competitors and always have. Its good copy and good business.
