...the more I love shooting my revolvers. Not instead of my auto loaders really. I'm feeling confident in my skills again with my pistols and so have stepped up cross training with my revolvers. Picked up a 2 1/2" tube for my Dan Wesson 15-2VH in .357 mag and a Ruger LCR late last Summer. I also have a S&W model 19 and a Ruger 3 screw Blackhawk in .357.

Went to the range with revolvers only yesterday and absolutely *HaMmErEd!* the middle out of the targets at 21' in brisk triple taps with full house 158 gr. .357 and a bunch of hand loaded .38 Special that has been around long enough to need rotated/re loaded fresh. And man did I shoot well and feel comfortable and centered. I hated that Ruger LCR when it showed up...just could not get the feel for a lightweight 5 shot .38 in DA only last Summer. Now I love that gun.

Scared some young 'uns in the next lane shooting .22 and 9mm learning and gaining skills in prep for their CCL proficiency tests....the snubbie tube on the DW with full house .357 makes the walls ring and the concussion in comparison to the 9mm was apparently enough to make people stop shooting and glance around the partitions between the lanes. Not to mention the muzzle blast and chunks of paper flying off the targets. Big grins - Wide eyes for newbies not accustomed to the extra noise.

It's odd to me that I have spent so much time and energy bringing my handgun skills up with auto loaders only to gravitate back to my first love... which are .357 mag revolvers. There is such confidence and a centered feeling in the simplicity and extra weight of a magnum revolver in the hand. Point and shoot with joy. I thought I had all the hand guns I needed now but I see at least one more snubbie .357 mag (in stainless!!) for the Bucket List.

The allure of the revolver is burning in me this morning yet. Feels good. :)

Love them both but sometimes there's just something very gratifying about shooting a revolver quickly and accurately.

My collection these days is almost all revolvers. Simple yet complex - beautiful action - steel and wood. Love them!

Not that many years ago, I had zero interest in revolvers. Now I have over twice as many wheel guns as semis. With my three HKs and a G26, I have no further desire for any more bottom feeders, but there's a couple more revolvers I'd like. Next is a S&W Model 69.

I have quite a few AL's and none have ever failed with my reloads, factory is another topic all it's own though. But as for me, and my security, I carry a wheel gun about 99% of the time.

My first handgun was a revolver, and I have been shooting and carrying them for the bulk of my life. I have a couple 66's that at least one goes every where with me. They aren't as comfortable to carry as some of my SC AL's are, there is no denying that. But I know with 100% certainty, they will never jam when I need them the most. I can induce a limp wrist situation with just about any of my AL's if I try hard enough. That alone is enough for me to carry a wheel gun.

The down side, well if I ever forget to wear hearing protection, or if I should need to use them in a SD situation, ouch!

Yeah, I'm trying so hard to like semi-autos and I just can't do it. The only semi-auto pistol I actually like shooting is a simple no-bells-and-whistles 1911...

I used to be all auto loaders but I shoot revolvers in my bullseye league and practice so much that I feel more comfortable with one. When you train 5 shots in 10 second at 25 yards over and over you get good with a DA revolver!

for pleasurable shooting I find a K frame .38 spl and a MkII .22lr hard to beat.

for simplicity of carry the J frame is hard to beat.

"for simplicity of carry the J frame is hard to beat".

The plain , simple , undeniable truth!
