Well it's finally done

I went slightly over board with this one.
The barrel is threaded and a muzzle break installed, and Dura Coated. Couldn't stop there, then came the Leupold VXIII 1.75-6X with quick detachable rings.

Then I picked up a few boxes of MagTech 275gr Solid Copper Hollow Points to sight it in with.

Come on Deer season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How's recoil? What kind of groups are you getting?

I've considered getting a NEF .45-70, but wondered how bad the recoil would be.

I used a H&R Topper, Jr. in 20 gauge for years. It was handy and light, but kicked like a mule.

I started shooting it when I was five, I think.

I was scared to death to shoot the 12 gauge 870 or 500 we had...of course, the recoil was much lighter! :)

Muzzle brake... ugh. ;) Nonetheless, it's a slick looking rifle. Your previous post about the NEF in 500 definitely peaked my interested, especially since I'm already reloading for it. The 500 in an 8 5/8" pistol is manageable, so in a rifle the recoil really shouldn't be bad at all. BTW, if you don't handload, you should start! The 500 is way more affordable if you handload for it, and since it's a short case you could load it on a smaller press like an RCBS Jr. or something along those lines, which would cut investment cost down on the reloading equipment. $20 (sometimes less) for 50 rounds is way more affordable than $30 for 12. :)

I dont think jeepdriver works at continental, because everytime im there, he isnt. Ive heard rumors a guy that looks like him works there though..maybe hes got a clone.
