The New 308 Marlin

Just get a Browning BLR in .308 or better yet a scoped bolt action in 30-06. Here's what I like about my 336 in 30-30, I can buy ammo for it almost anywhere and I can hit and kill everything from rabbits to decent size pigs out to 100+yds with open sights. Limitations aren't a bad thing.

If I want to shoot at longer ranges...well that's why they invented bolt actions and scopes

ryoushi- you don thave to take a tube-fed levergun out of battery to refill the ammo (compared to BLR .308). Also, a 336 is a heck of alot handier than a Rem 700 in .308 or .30-06.

You don't have to on a BLR either - just drop the magazine (or carry an extra).
