Well I ordered this a long while back but it took them a while to get the barrel in. Heavy Hart 20" barrel, threaded with flash hider in 6x45 (6-223), mid-length gas system with low profile gas block, and rifle length aluminum free float tube. We just function checked it today so I'll load up a few rounds and hopefully get to the range in the next week or so. Marty at Tepu Jutso put it all together for me.

Nice gun.

Is the 6x45mm any different than the 6mm TCU? I know they're both based off the 223 Rem, but do they have the same lengths, headspace, shoulder angle, etc?

Fumbler:
The 6x45 is the .223 necked up to 6mm, no other changes. With the 6mm TCU the shoulder is moved forward and the angle changed to 40 degrees.

I chose the 6x45 for the most part because it's an easy conversion, but it seems to have a lot going for it in general. Easy to develop loads for, reputation for being accurate, suitable for small game, say up to 100 lb. deer as well as coyotes etc. It also has almost no recoil, I've been teaching a friends 10 yr. old how to shoot and I think this will be a good centerfire for him to learn on.

I also gave serious thought to the 6.5 Grendel. I pretty much ignored the 6.8 SPC, already have a 7.63x39 and didn't see any real advantages to the 6.8.

I have two AR uppers chambered in the 6x45mm one is a 20" rifle and the other is a 16" midlength gas system. Like you I wanted something with a little more to offer than the .223 Rem.

Have had the best luck with Sierra and Hornady bullets loading to mag length, bullets like Nosler BT tend to be to long from ogive to the tip for the AR unless you feed them one at a time.

Already had a rifle chambered in 6.8 SPC but with the problems with getting ammo and brass lost interest in it and moved on to the 6X45.
