Already done!! I have almost 200 rounds through it!! It was a busy range sesson Saturday. I had just about an hour to put as many rounds as I could through it!!
10-Ring,
Well, let's see. I have the two SA mags that came with the gun, which I believe are made by metalform.
I have two Chip McCormick SS Match grade mags, but only one of those locks the slide back. I have been in contact with the company and will send it back to the womb for rebirthing.
I have an assortment of 7 round mags including two factory Colt from the 'Nam era and one Mec-Gar.
Oh, I almost forgot!! One lone Wilson Combat that is as yet untried!!
I am currently in the throes of trying to decide that age old dilemma: which 1911 mag is best!!
So far, the 'Nam era colts, the Mec-Gar, and the SA mags are winning!!
We will see if the vaunted Wilson Combat makes the grade!! The winner will get a big denfoote contract!!
denfoote - sounds like you'll be spending some time on this quest for the best 1911 mag! Are you satisfied w/ the performance of your Spingfield otherwise?
I've only shot it once!! 173 rounds. Other than the three failures to go into battery, which were probably due to the gun being really tight and the fact that I hoofed it down to the range as soon as I could after making the transfer, it works fine!!
If this keeps up, I'm probably going have to venture into Scottsdale AZ and talk with Mike Dillon about a reloader!!
