.....the new phone book is here!

And my number is XD-45! :D

I picked one up for a good price, and am quite pleased with it.
While it will never replace my 1911s, it is an excellent piece in it's own right.
I have not yet thrown it on scales, but it seems comparable in loaded weight when compared to my fuly loaded steel 5" SW1911.

Fit and finish look great! It is my first foray in the Tupperware gun market.

Now if I can just find some extra mags (due to popularity, everyone seems to be out).

Congrat's On The Springer XD .45 ACP

Like you, this in the only polymer pistol that I own. I have a very
early (late '05) 4" service model XD .45 ACP that was the very first one
in the state of Alabama. It was sent in as a salesman sample, and was
mistakenly sold too me; complete with all the GEAR package, and a first
production run cover sheet signed by the sales manager of Springfield
Armory~!:cool: ;) Enjoy:D
 
Congrats, I have a service model and it is an awsome pistol. I have added a tlr-1 flashlight to mine because it is my home d weapon. My one complaint is the stock sights, I want some night sight for mine.
 
I'm with you on this, Ala Dan. I do not like the grip angle and size of the Glock grips - I tend to aim high with them.

I also like the beefy rails of the XD-45. The grip is a little large to carry, but I really love having 13 round mags! WIth one in the gun, and 2 reloads, it is equal to a loaded 1911 plus 4 mags! Nice grab on yours!

Sneaks -

How does the TLR-1 attach to the rails? I have read that there is a setscrew that needs to be loctited, and it can potentially chew up the rails.

Can you buy any aftermarket parts or replacement internals for the XD series yet or do you have to always send it back to the factory for any work?

That's the main thing keeping me away from XDs at the moment.

At this point, it is all factory based. It doesn't really bother me, as SA has their lifetime warranty backing up the gun.

Great pistol, I have one as well and you'll really like it.

Oh, and watch out for that guy on the hill. He really hates these cans. ;)

Possum is just one of the senior members on here that LOVES his XD's. Thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and I was just cracking a joke with him hoping he'd see it...He obviously hasn't read this thread yet, because he'd be first in line to congradulate you on your new purchase.
