It's actually 2 guns in one. It becomes service model size with the swap of a magazine. That's really something, how convenient is that? I may have my issues with the XD but when I get to AZ I may have found my CCW carry weapon while also having a service model size .45 XD for the range in the same gun! That's pretty slick, plus you still get all that free gear that Springfield gives to all its new gun buyers.

I can dig it.

If you like the sleeve/spacer holders which make the service mag fit the compact...for me they wiggled too much and would pinch during shooting, frankly they threw my shooting off.

Also be aware where your pinky is when you slam home a mag on a compact or the gun and mag will let you know...

I like the compact with the 10round mags but with the 13 :uhoh:

I like my XD45 Compact, great shooter. Never had a problem with the mag sleeves for the 13rnd, no affect on my shooting at all (feels like my XD45 Service model when shooting).

Just picked up the Tactical version of the Compact. Looking forward to breaking it in this weekend:D

i personally think that it is very inovative and a great idea. i believe it is truely 2 guns in one. i have the .40sc and i have experience with the sleeves on the magazines and i have had no issues to date with them. i wish they would come out with some of the same concepts in different calibers.

I wonder if Glock has plans of introducing a version of their new G21SF with a shortened grip (still using the normal 4.6" barrel slide) that could accept G30SF type mags. It would be a Glock version of the XD-45ACP compact. It would be nice also if they did it with their regular G21 and G20 pistols (shorted grip (can take G30/G29 mags)/same 4.6" length barrel slide) as well. I'm not holding by breath though.;)

I can see that as being one of the only problems. I didn't nail my pinky but I did get the bottom of my palm jammed into my Para P14 once. That got a little bloody I must say.

I still think the idea of the mag swapping for size change is pretty ingenius.
