Just wanted to let my THR friends know that it's finally come to pass - mdshooter is now a Pennsylvania resident and has officially escaped the anti-freedom nanny-state lunacy that permeates Maryland - the Califonia of the East :D

We moved in over the weekend and are still in the process of cleaning out the old place and settling into the new one. Next comes car registrations, PA drivers license, and (to keep this gun-related) my PA CCW!

Still looking for a new user name if anybody has any suggestions... and I'm close by, so if I'm still welcome I'd love to participate in future Maryland THR events. Don't know if I'll be able to make the D-Day picnic, but will be keeping a close watch on the Rallying Point for upcoming shoots.

It's good to be free!

Congratulations! One of my daughters and her family live in Waynesboro and are always trying to talk us into moving to PA. Almost did a couple of years ago, but WV is almost as good (actually better - you can buy beer on Sunday).

Congrats....though it sort of rubs the salt in the wound for the rest of us who for one reason or another are stranded here.;)

Hope you can still come down for a MD Alumni THR shoot once in a while!

Congrats! I wish I could same, though I am making an escape to the eastern shore. Does that count? It is actually a more conservative pro-gun part of MD.

Norton: Sorry about that... certainly not the intent. Trouble was that living in Northern Baltimore County - less than two miles from the line - when the wind blew from the right direction I could smell the freedom. It finally got to the point that I could no longer resist its lure ;)

But seriously, our recent close brush with Maryland's proposed AWB played a part in the timing of this thing. We've been thinking of downsizing for a while, and finding a place with a ready-made workshop for my other hobbies was a big plus, but 2nd Ammendment issues certainly influenced the direction we moved when the time was right.

SJG26: Leader Heights... just on the South side of York. Looking for a good rifle range or two in my area - been so busy selling, packing, moving, etc... it's been too long since I've killed any paper!

Some good name suggestion here folks - thanks! Keep 'em coming.

Good for you.My wife is from York and her mom is still living there.Got a good friend who lives near Hanover and I know he shoots at some clubs around there.Have some hog maw and a shoofly pie to celebrate.

"the poster formerly known as mdshooter"?

Might be a bit long...

GOOD news Dale .... welcome aboard the USS Pennsylvania!!:)

I guess the CCW will require a 90 day residency to be made good .... so looks like early August. Be aware of the moves here to implement an AWB ....... Thread here ... we need to be vigilant and nail this obscenity.

Not sure if I'll manage a fall shoot or not this year .. but hope perhaps to see ya at some shoot or other.

Good luck and shooting. OH and BTW ... already mentioned but yeah .. you must become PAshooter ... no other choice!! :D

(actually better - you can buy beer on Sunday).

I thought it was cars that you can't get on Sundays? Car dealerships are closed then, anyhow.

Yeah, but if they can beat it in Maryland...

Welcome back to freedom! I remember what it's like when I moved from California to Nevada. Take your time now, and don't try to take advantage of all your new freedoms in one day. :)

I like xmdshooter, but pshooter has a certain ring to it. I guess "poopshooter" wouldn't work! :D

No, no, no - definitely not PAshooter! You'd be accused of patricide before long...

Too late!

Hopefully the capitalization of the first two letters will help avoid confusion... but I'm proud of my new home and have followed P95's (and others') suggestion.

90 days, huh? That'll be a challenge to my patience ;)
