The "Own a Gun in ___ and stay out of jail" books...

You've probably seen them at your gun store, range, etc.

"How to own a gun in (insert state here) and stay out of jail."

Are these books accurate, useful, worth the money, etc?

IIRC, they're about $10 and updated every year.

Worth it?

I believe they are simply one source of information and they can be as accurate or inaccurate as any other source.

I once had a run in with a well known author of one of these type of books in AZ. He told me that unless I bought HIS book, I'd go to jail due to gun charges. I was all over him in an instant. I wasn't about to take his arrogent attitude without responding. My friend was about to intervene when I walked away.
Because of this jerks attitude I've never bought one of these books.

I didn't put his name in here because I'm haveing a C.R.S. moment, not because I'm being nice.
