NBC has a new action show The Player
I like it but I cant ID the pistol that the main character Alex Kane uses...Can any of you help...I check the movie firearm data base no luck

Most of the trailer had a Glock, including one with the aftermarket stainless slide, but there is another pistol at times. Perhaps taken from a baddie?

Theres no mistaking that trigger gaurd, the first one is a Glock. I can't tell the difference between a G26 or a G27 unless I actually read the slide... The second one I'm not so sure of.

Looks like a Sig variant, saw some characters with those in the promo.

That Glock isn't a G26 or G27...slide is too long...more likely a G19

The second picture is a SIG. From the slide and grip/mag proportions, looks like a P226

A Gen 3 or 4 G19 would have a light rail dust cover. A Gen 2 would have a pronounced step down contour. I'm thinking G29/30 based on slide length and dust cover profile.

in the second or third episode it does not look like either of those pistols

I think in this picture Wesley Snipes has taken Kane's gun away from him - I'm guessing because Kane's holster is empty.

From the front this doesn't look like a Glock to me - it isn't squared off enough.

And I think this is the same gun because it looks like the same scene - a cargo hold, and I think this gun has a hammer on it:

Looks like a G26 EXO in the first pic. Wesley Snipes definitely has a Glock in his hands. The pic with 2 guys fighting for the gun, that's some 1911 variant. I can't tell on the others.

Sight set is wrong, no barrel bushing, hammer is wrong...it's a SIG; you can see the breech block/firing pin retaining pin in the slide

I watched last night's episode and really liked Kane's gangsta style of shooting. If you can't shoot "gangsta," you just don't know how to shoot!

Couldn't understand much of the blonde girls Australian/English dialogue but she surely knew how to work all those computers, huh? Kind of a combo of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, but with prettier hair. ;)

Don't know about the show's guns. If it isn't a Colt's Govt. 1911 Model, Browning Hi Power, Beretta 92, Colt's Single Action Army, or S&W Chief's Special, I'm lost. Of course, I'm old fashioned. :)

I suspect the actors use whatever the prop guy hands them and the continuity folks don't know or care whether it is a Glock, a SIG or a Colt SAA.

Today the guns might not even be real guns at all, since the stuff is all shot digital and the noise and flash added later if needed.

Also, part of the show's premise is that he works for "The House" which has vast resources and can get him anything he needs, immediately.

So around Vegas he seems to carry a Nitron Sig, he's picked several guns off enemies (That Glock, and the stainless Sig) and when he had to go to LA, they jumped in a private jet and flew over. It's plausible that he picked up the XD in LA (along with a rifle that was explicitly procured for him in LA) rather than deal with guns in Cali's airports.

I'm trying to remember but I think when he was in Mexico, he didn't have (or didn't use) any gun, despite being shot at, which also makes sense.

No TV show is perfect, but I've actually been thinking The Player seems to do a better job than most with the gun stuff. I don't think I've heard them cock a Glock yet!

Edit: Also, the scene with Snipes above: That isn't The Player's character. That was nameless security guy #4 outside the door of some high ranking US gov. official.

You're 100% correct.
