I'm not sure if that video is a testament to the power of the dog's jaws or an indictment of the flimsiness of the car's bumper.

Probably both. Any more what the dog tore off isn't really a bumper, just a bumper cover. Basically a piece of plastic to make the car pretty:rolleyes:. I wonder if the LEO was just too afraid to get out and shoo the doggy away:evil:. I figure that pepper spray would deter Winston but the LEO probably didn't think that far ahead.

I don't blame the officer. I would have stayed inside, too!

At least the officer didn't just run over the dogs. He was pretty patient.

Somebody needs to call animal control. If I was in the stuation I would put the dog down crown vic style. Or at least see how fast that dog could run while holding on to the bumper. But then again having dogs like that loose in public could be a serious hazard to the public. I guess its better the cops bumper than mauling some lil old lady. Those dogs should be put to sleep one way or another. Looks like the owner of them is pretty negligent.

I don't understand why the cop didn't get out of the car and shoo the dog off. It was pretty obvious to me that the dog was being playful, not vicious. That being said, if the dog was vicious, I think the cop should have taken the chance, as he was armed, instead of sitting in the car with bystanders around.

Cop must have been in his spot, he'll know for next time. =)

Also, that isn't the car's bumper, it's just a plastic cover that sits over the steel bumper which is attached to ladder frame on a Crown Vic. The bumper was in no danger from the doggy. =)

This happened locally... and I can't believe how fast this has spread! It happened like last week. FYI, the dog has been sentenced to obedience school.
