I went to my favorite local toy store today to see if they had received any cool items today on the truck and browse a little. They had not opened all of the boxes at that point but they had pulled out three RRA AR-15s. I believe they said they were CAR A4s. Price was $925 - same price as before the hysteria started. To my knowledge they have not raised any price on any item unless the cost of that item had risen and had been passed on to them.

They told me weeks ago that they would rather keep a solid customer base instead of make a few extra bucks during this time of extreme demand. It seems to be working for them as they are busy all of the time. I'll skip the interweb buying, thank you very much. The shops prices are very competitive when you factor in shipping and transfer fees, so, I wouldn't save anything anyway.

Phydeaux - where are you from? Just wondering because the shop I work at just had this exact scenario (with the Rock Rivers coming in, etc.) LOL just curious.

I have a great store near me. They haven't price gouged and been fair on trading and buying. I have always haggled a decent price from them.

Our local shop hasn't raised the price on any of the guns, saw a Colt AR-15 going for $1150, I'm no AR expert, but it looked to be in really good shape, I think it was on consignment...

Ammo has gone up in price a bit, but the dealer said that his incoming shipments have been going up in price, so he has to raise his to reflect... He can't keep ammo on the shelf... He got a shipment last tuesday, and within 20 minutes, a gentleman came in and purchased over 75% of it... a $6500 order if I remember right.

Our local place is run by good folks. They are having a hard time keeping things in stock with demand right now.

Here is why I keep coming back. They had a used AR upper that they had a decent but not great price on, been there about a week. I offered about 10 dollars less out the door and he actually countered my offer DOWN an extra 5 dollars. :scrutiny:

Now that is a smart businessman. He could have kept it on the shelf and sold it for what he was asking the way stuff is selling. He knew how much he needed to get on that upper and by being willing to come off the price like that he has a customer who will bring in more business by word of mouth. I point people there all the time because of this.

Maybe I shouldn't. More people to compete with for stuff, but this treatment makes me genuinely interested in them being sucessful.
