The Revenge of the Rust (or, where to buy cosmoline?)

Alright, I'm just about fed up.

I detail stripped my FEG today, as noted in another post, and even though I've kept the area under the grips GREASED and wiped it down after I touch it, it still manages to get little spots of rust.

As a matter of fact, just in the amount of time that it took me to detail strip the frame of the FEG, my fingerprints had sprung rust.

So, I took the stainless steel brush to it again, wiping out even more of the gun's once-beautiful finish.

I'm down to my last option here -- I NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO BUY SOME COSMOLINE.

Somebody... Help!?!?

You can get Cosmoline from either MidwayUSA or Brownell's.

What kind of grease have you been using? If it's a grease intended for lubricating it may not be good for preventing corrosion. Aside from Cosmoline, you could try RIG (Rust Inhibiting Grease). http://www.silencio.com/htfiles/chemicals.html.

Hmmm .. something really is badly wrong here - must be.

Yeah .. RIG is a great option but also .. go get some Boeshield T-9 ... like NOW!!! My FEG has a superb finish and unless yours is an example of inferior finish .. something sure as hell ain't right.

A full treatment with Boeshield and a dab of Militech on slide rails and all should be great.

I hate it when small corrosion areas appear .... worries me more than keeping the gun ''post-shooting'' clean internally.
