Yes it was $370.00, Thier site said $345.00 and $350.00, but they would not budge.

Possible Shop is $344.95, could have saved a few there, or at Midway, $350.00, I believe.

I went with Taylors and co. because of thier excellent customer service, and reputation. They also have real good prices on all replacment parts if you need to repair anything they sell.

With the Dollar plunging on world markets I don't see prices getting any better, just higher for imported goods.

Can't wait for the Walker to arrive. Seems like I am building up a collection again. Now I need to replenish my B/P supply as it is getting low (3 lbs left).

Anyone have A good online source for the black and some of it's substitutes,???. I use to buy it locally but they reired and now can't find it any where.

Keep it dry.

www.Grafs.com or www.mainepowderhouse.com for BP. It works out to be cheaper than buying it in a store ( if you can find it ) as long as you buy somewhere around 10lbs.
My Walker from Taylors is nice. From all the other Walkers I've seen with straight grain Walnut, I think Taylors did as I asked and picked out one with some figure. I like the Cabelas Walkers now too, they're all charcoal blue for some reason. I picked up a used unfired one the day after I ordered my Taylor's one for $300.
I deepened the hammer notch and honed just about every part to debur and polish the action. Check the forcing cone for burs too, mine had some, that can't be good for accuracy. I haven't shot it again since I got it, but need to test it out before working on the hammer notch any more. I'd like to get all my Ubertis to hit point of aim if possible. My Dragoon is now that way by filing the left side of the front sight and deepening the hammer notch, it hits where I aim, always a good thing in a gun :)
I now have two revolvers from Taylor's and both are great. I'll buy from them again.

new uberti walker from taylor's

I ordered a uberti walker from my local gunshop and they called today and said it just came in, but i can't pick it up till saturday cause i work out of town. It was 329.00 plus tax which puts it about 360.00 out the door. The shop had a big distributor catalog with all kinds of guns in it including the uberti walker from taylor's, can't wait till saturday:). I'll try to post a pic.

The mold is the steel one, thankfully. Meanwhile I'll continue shooting my good ol' round bullets and I'll try different loads, ranging from 25 to 45 grains to see if there's some improvement in grouping. What are you using between powder and bullet ? I use semolina, then a lubed felt wad. The semolina is widely used in France, almost always alone. The advantages of semolina are that the powder stays dry and burn completely and as it isn't compressible, the shots are very regular. The advantage of the wads being to clean the barrel but as felt is compressible the shots are less regular. Mixing both methods gave me good results so far.

Alot of the members can hold the Walker in one hand, a Dragoon in the other. We can reclaim the whole US ( which is needed sooner or later ) :)

I'm old. Carrying four Walkers is not what my cardiologist meant by 'take it easy'.

Oh come on mykeal! You just suggested two Walkers with two Dragoons for back-up, think you are really gonna notice the slight weight difference?? :D:D What would that be almost a whole eight ounces less?? :D:D

When you're old enough, you can just have one Walker, the kind with rubber feet and an aluminum frame.
