You just cut a strip from a can, slip it into the slot, put the plunger in and wack it with a plastis hammer, and out pops a no 11 cap, use the hole punch to punch out 2 caps from a cap strip and put them in the cap and that's it.
I made 30 in about 15 minutes including cutting the can into strips.
Lets see obammy stop me now!
I can make powder, shot and caps.
He can bite my big ole American Butt
I just made 30 caps.
The hardest part is getting the snapcaps seated inside the cap.
It took a few tries to get the first ones right, then after that, I got the hang of it .
Keep a pair of tweezers on hand.
I wonder what would happen if I put a small amount of powder in and then seated a cap over it.(did not work.)
I'm going to have to revise my opinion.
I am starting to get failures.
The first 6 must have been a fluke.
Only about half are setting off a charge now.
I will up the caps to 3 per cap
Guys, I'm sorry to say, the results with the chineese caps are not good.
I am going to try to find some made in U.S..
But the caps do not split like the CCI caps.
Now if I can get the power I need. I will update as soon as I get the result.

Possibly...installing two 'Cap Gun Caps' into each Percussion Cap...would ensure a higher success rate?
 
I have looked at that one over and over and am still unsure. It looks real to me but then If I really wanted to sell such a valuable piece I would use one of the big auction houses instead ;)
 
My thoughts exactly. The fact that it's being offered up via an online auction instead of one of the big auction houses just strikes me as "peculiar", to put it politely. THe story of it's owner's lineage just sounds a little too perfect. Maybe its true, not saying it ain't. But it is the internet, after all!

For the Tap o Cap i would probably try the match trick. Take some strike all matches the ones with the two colored head. Carefully use a razor blade and cut the white tip off then grind it down very very carefully. then add a very small amount of rubbing alcohal. Then pack the tap o caps. Use the bottom of the match stick to compress the compound very carefully. Do not do it if its dry and only do small batches at a time. Im sure it will work way way better than the roll caps
 
Tap-A-Cap INFO

Glad to see someone else went with a Tap-A-Cap. I got one about 2 months ago, but have not been into shooting much as of late-too many other pressing things taking up all my time.

The only thing you need to keep in mind when using these caps (at least according to a heck of a lot of posts all over the web) is that the top pistol caps are very corrosive-much more so than regular BP caps. The match trick is even worse from what I have been able to gather. Just keep this in mind and don't put off cleaning up after shooting. Almost all of the posters on other forums use at least 2 caps and do not use caps from China as they are of inferior quality. Good enough for toys, but not for OUR toys!

Since I haven't had any real time, I have not tried out any homemade caps, but will do so soon. Good luck with finding a combo that works. If you find one that gives consistent fire, post for the rest of us.
 
I have been thinking of getting one but with the talk of the trouble with the caps I dont know. It may have been Youngblood who made mention of useing a dash of powder ffff powder between the caps wonder if this would work. The first cap would set the dash of powder and in turn the second cap wouldnt this make a good spark.
 
If you can get it. really to work & work reliably. I think it would be neat as Hell. Its a very interesting thing this TAP a CAP. You can make everything right in your kitchen.POWDER,BALL,& CAP. How cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
 
Still waiting for my check to get to JCT house in NH. & then clear the bank. Then MR. Walker is headed to husker Nation. God willing i will end being the 100th member of the Walker club!!

The Wife says no more guns for awhile. I want a Walker bad.........She wanted a pickup bad. Got the pickup 2 weeks ago 09 Dodge loaded. Now my Walker don't have to be loaded. Any one got one the want to get rid of.

The way I see it , your up for an entire arsenal in blackmail guns , your good to go man ! :D
I recomend buying a new Uberti Walker , nice to have new , just ask your wife ! Ummm , buy two, I highly recomend the experince of blastin both at once , and tell her there just aint no other way to own and shoot a Walker .

Seeing as how the Walker is such a heavy revolver you do require two of them to keep things in the universe proportional......... she would not ant the universe to be unproportional would she?????? :D
 
Medically speaking (I was once an EMT... does that qualify me to use the term? :D )... your body will maintain balance better with a pair of Walkers... don't want your back and such out of alignment... now, do you? :evil:
