Sounds like a similar problem that I have trying to get that Colt-made Walker.
The Yankee seller doesn't want to sell to me because I'm a Canadian, and demands an FFL, even though my importer has an address in Montana. He was abusive on the phone with my importer, so I thought that I'd give him a try. He hung up on me, too.

I'll go through the proper channels first....Through GUNBROKER's customer service, then feedback, then see what to do next after that.
When my importer said that he didn't like Canadians, I thought that he was pulling my leg. I have an e-mail from the seller that sadly, supports that though. I'm sure that he's in the minority, but it takes all kinds to make a world.....

Help. My uberty(new) 44 colt freezes up when i fire it. Even with fireing only a primed case(no boolet or powder). I have to remove the barrel and cylinder. The revolver is very clean and well taken care of. Does not freeze when dry fired. This happen to any one else? Whats the fix? Thank you. [email protected]

Brushwolf, 1st just try lubricating the internals, this may solve the problem. If this doesn't help, it
sounds like you may have a problem with either the 'cam' on the base of the hammer or the 'cylinder bolt' ear that engages that cam. Most likely it is a worn or damaged 'ear' on the cylinder bolt (the piece that locks the cylinder in place for each shot). Seems like the case that when you snap the hammer, the hammer cam does not re-engage the bolt ear properly to reset it to cycle for the next shot... You will have to completely disassemble the receiver internals and inspect these two areas for damage or wear.
Could also be that a new cylinder bolt was installed and not properly fit. VTI has new cylinder bolts and/or hammers if this is the case; there would be some fitting involved either way.
Additionally, the bolt height on the part that actually falls into the cylinder could be too tall, not allowing the bolt to drop fully, allowing the bolt ear to properly engage the cam. This would require a light filing down of the bolt top where it engages the cylinder.
Be very careful if you are considering any filing or adjustment, as this would negate any warranty and could mess up the gun worse if you do it wrong. Let a qualified gunsmith handle the work, or send it back for warranty coverage.
If it was a used gun, it could be possible that all it would need is a good internal cleaning and lubrication, as most people never really clean the internals even after years of use. (THR members excepted , of course!)

Brushwolf, are you sure that the caps aren't sticking out a fraction too far on your nipples? this could explain why your cylinder won't rotate with caps on it, but does without them. If they grind against the back of the recoil shield it could become stuck if they are too long.

I see that the Walker has been re-listed on GUNBROKER, so I'll take that to mean that a refund will be on the way.
I can hear it now......"The cheque is in the mail................"
I can approach GUNBROKER as of January 2nd about this. Feedback may not be to the seller's liking, though.

Anyone out there looking to get a Walker on GUNBROKER, watch out for # 208307716. He's my P.I.A.
The Post Office won't do anything, because the item (who cares that there was a bank draft inside) was successfully delivered. My bank said, "Sorry" because he had already cashed it. I DID, however, contact HIS police department (after he threatened to go to them). I beat him to them. They said that he won't get their help. I've written to GUNBROKER, and they'll get in touch with him. My final and biggest "gun", is your ATF. They are gonna have a chat with him, also.....................................................I'll keep my fingers crossed as to getting my money refunded.
Bottom line is........Always be careful when you buy online or sight unseen. Investigate the seller, either through feedback on site, or through your Better Business Bureau. And in a case like GUNBROKER and the others, always leave feedback after your transaction. That'll help the next guy who wants to buy.
I see that a nice Colt-made Walker is selling for $600 on GUNBROKER. That could have been my bid, but I'm "gun shy" of buying south of the border, now.

Hats off to Del Strazza of Country Classics Shooting Supplies in Alberta, who has gone to bat for me. He has an FFL licence to buy and sell between Canada and the U.S. (and vice-versa).

I have had a lot of problems with GB. There are too many people with ads sayinf things like "I don't know much about black powder" and you get a bummer gun.
My last episode was hunting a Walker down. Seemed like a good price and it was 350 delivered. But it was a rebuild. It had indexing problems yet was supposed to have been a safe queen.
Thye guy graciously refunded me. That was good! I added a few bucks and got one from Midway for abour 60 bucks more. No one else had any in stock. So now I have a 2010 Uberti.
My advice is always to use Dixie, Cabela's or Midway or any other normal retailer unless it is cheap enough that the smithing won't be a pain in the tail.

I found a grimy old ASM in a cardboard box in the back of a pawn shop. It has an AT code, some freckling on the casehardening and dings in the barrel around the wedge. The owner said $150. I said sold! It seems tight, but it'll be a coupla days before I get to try it out.
Got to shoot it today. Works fine. The lever doesn't drop, not even when I fill a chamber flush with FF and mash a .454 ball down on top of it. (I'd guess that a full chamber is pretty close to 85grs.)

Walker "F" series 2nd gen
Please note - there is no such thing as a "C" series Walker. The only guns made in "C" are the 1851 Navy and the 3rd Model Dragoon.
"The total number of 2nd Generation Walkers, exclusive
of the Heritage, was 3,165, with four-digit serial numbers
1200 to 4120."
"The 1847 Walker was first issued in June 1980, as the Colt Heritage, a limited, cased model complete with a leather-bound and gilt-edged edition of R. L. Wilson's book The Colt Heritage. A total of 1,853 were produced through June 1981. Each Heritage Walker was serialized from 1 to 1,853 with the book, signed by Wilson and numbered to match the gun. A striking presentation, the Walker was set into a fitted case with the book placed in a removable shelf, allowing both the pistol and book to be displayed."
