After looking at all the pictures here of these Walkers all I can say is the only thing purrrtier than a Walker is two or more Walkers together. Got a Dragoon coming so I now only need two more then will have to look for a few more

Been a while since I posted, figured I'd throw up a semi-recent pic...
Walker1.jpg

Only 25 yards this time, still seem to get two flyers out of six shots... gonna have to mic my chambers one of these days.

mukluk, another thing to do is mark the chambers so you can determine if it is a chamber that is causing the fliers. My competition revolvers had numbered chambers and each shot was fired and noted. After many targets, any mismatched chamber was evident and dealt with.

Here is my Walker

I am new here to this forum. so first of all, I would like to say hello to all. I have a question. Did the walkers that were made for civilian use leave off the usmr marking in the cylinder relief? Im just curious, as it would make sense not only to set these models apart by serial number only but by a panel relief minus the usmr marking can someone please help me with this? Thanks

I have all kinds of time on my hands but not enough to view 114 pages of Walkers so forgive my question:

Are there any real Colt's Walkers posted on this thread?

I don't own a Walker, just a Colt Dragoon, but it does have "Colts Patent" on the frame although it wouldn't surprise me if some Italian company made it for Colt. :)

Daveinvegas:

Some folks don't believe the 2nd Generation Colt black powder revolvers marketed by Colt's Manufacturing Co. are genuine Colt guns (even though Colt says they are), and even more folks have the same opinion about the 3rd Generation Colt guns marketed by Colt Blackpowder Arms (there is some question about Colt's Manufacturing Co.'s opinion on this). Both of those have the 'Colt's Patent' stamp. So, to answer your question, we need to know if you consider the 2nd and/or 3rd Generation guns 'real' Colts.

If you do, the answer is yes, there are 'real' Colt Walkers pictured in this thread.

If you don't, I believe the answer is no.

Hoof Hearted:

it's up to scrat. I'll go along with whatever he says (not that he needs my opinion - he's more than capable). But if it were up to me alone, I'd prefer a complete gun be owned for membership. I do like your gun, though.

No real issue here for me......my post was more "tongue in cheek" than a plea for acceptance (unless of course there is a membership payback involved:neener:).....I just like to share!

Hoof Hearted,

I'd love to hear the details on your 2nd Dragoon with Walker cylinder. How did that come about? What kind of cartridge is that you are shooting from it? Nice lookin' revolver!

Thank You and mykeal for the compliments!
I've been Building/Collecting/Shooting Cartridge Conversions for better than 25 years. While I have accumulated a number of "friends in high places" and knowledge in this aspect of the firearm. I have also quickly (like in 25 posts) realized that there are many on here who "rush to judgement".

I also don't want to be looked down upon for hijacking this thread.

I would be more than happy to share the details of this revolver with you in a more personal atmosphere. Shoot me a PM!

Click on the link below to post #2602 by twaits which is on page 105. The auction page link shows many detailed photos of the finest martial Walker revolver known to exist, the Colt Walker "A Company 210" that was sold in 2008 by Julia Auctions for a record breaking price.

Be sure to click on an auction page photo to embiggen them.

Can I join if I dont own one, I know a bit about them. And LOVE old Colt revolvers.

Anyone can post in the thread and not be an official member.
Then after a person posts a photo of their Walker, their name gets added to the membership list.
Everyone needs to show a photo of their Walker in order to be on the list.
That's why scrat gets paid all of the big bucks. :D

Yeah, I'm still around and still here. Shot out the Walker I keep loaded early this morning before daylight. Just got through thoroughly cleaning it and reloading it. Hadn't shot out in about 5 to 7 months; just changed caps a couple of times even though they probably didn't need changing. 48 grains of Triple Seven 3fff in each chamber (my standard load most of the time) and as usual NO LEVER DROP....

This is the same Walker that's pictured above that killed the bear I told ya'll about a couple of years or so ago. Like as usual with me I pick out one of my guns and it's the only one I'll carry and shoot. I own several Walker's but this one is fine and is the only one I'vd ever shot. It'll last longer than I will I'm sure....
