I’d have to add my Tikka T3 7mm-08 to his list.

Also, a Taurus Tracker revolver I dearly loved and traded for a terrible other Taurus revolver. Whoops. Will kick myself for decades over that.

from The Truth About Guns:

#1 Colt single action army model 1873 – valued between $1,500 – $30,000

#2: Walther P38 (Pronounced val-tha’, not “walther”) – valued between $800 – $3000

#3: M1 Garand - valued between $1000 – $6000, something to do with Obama.

#4: FM Browning Hi-Power – valued between $800 – $3000

#5: Colt Detective Special, .38 Caliber – valued between $650 – $1,800

#6: S&W Model 29 .44 Magnum – valued between $800 – $3,000

#7 Pre WW2 to WW2 Colt/Remington 1911 – valued between $600 – $3,000

#8 Russian SKS – valued between $600 – $1,200, value rising every year.

#9 Russian Dragunov – valued between $1,500 – $10,000

#10 Sig Sauer P210 – valued between $2,700 – $15,000

I'll see #1,3,7 and raise a Marlin Model 1893, Winchester 1897, Saginaw M1 carbine. Interesting list.

I've owned several SSA #1, 2 High Powers #4 several Colt Det Spl/Cobras both in the old configuration #5 and the later heavy barrel and several M29s/629s #6. Like an idiot I let several SSA & New Frontier revolvers get away, all the Colt snubbies and all but my first (and very fine) M29. I still retain, thank goodness, one of the High Powers.

Never sell something you really like, especially if you use it sometimes.

But what if you have 10-12 guns, die suddenly, nobody wants to inherit them (except to sell for needed cash), and you wife doesn't understand the markets for them?
Have a plan.

My plan is to encourage as many grandkids to enjoy shooting as possible so they will want the guns I've bought with them in mind. I know my son-in-law would enjoy and keep anything I hand down to him, though he has several himself. Already handed down some handguns to my daughters. Pretty sure the grandkids will have fun divvying up at least the AR15s, M1 Carbines, Glocks, 9mm pistols, and .22LRs. Who will get the Tikka and Sako hunting rifles, Garands, 1911 and .44mags is the question now, with SIL as default.

I've sold some guns in the past but don't plan on selling any more, just passing them on.

What an pathetic list......seven handguns and three old military rifles. Someone with a very limited exposure to firearms put that together.

Well, just WHAT is your massive exposure to (And experience with) firearms??? Are you one of those knows it all who doesn't think military is worth owning? I have several "Military" firearms in my collection that are each probably worth more than all the guns you own!

My son married a lady from no. CA.,. They hope to move out there in the near Future, and with two babies, they don't want any gun in their house (I can understand no handgun, unless locked with no chance of a mistake).

And with my son's thinking becoming exploited by the "millenials' main news sources", there's little chance he would ever want one of my AKs, even if they were legal in CA.

I had kept an extra SKS (now sold for $500 on Friday) for him, just in case.
