The ultimate reloading bench?

So, i have a friend who is a carpenter, and when he heard that i was getting reloading stuff, he offered to make me a bench if i could get the plans... Basically, what would be the "ultimate" bench? I don't yet have a room specific for reloading, i will probably just section part of the garage off. Also, it needs to be fairly modular, so i can mount all different kinds of equipment

Anyone got plans?

Some of them, yeah, but as a new reloader, i do not know which features that some have are "better" than others....

The National Reloading Manufactuers Association, has a very detailed set of plans with a materials list available for 5$.

The benches I have seen built to these plans are A1 class benches.

Also google nrma reloading bench plans, there are several free plans and some modifications of that plan.

I saw a post on a bench design that came from a gun magazine website that was incredible. Unfortunatly I do not remember the link nor the name of the magazine that it was featured in. The design incorporated modular cut-outs from the bench top with different tools (press, trimmers, bullet sizing presses, etc.) mounted that slid into different locations along the bench top. If I had the skills, time, or money that would def. be the route I would take. Maybe do some searches or check out a few old posts here and it might turn up.

Two rules of thumb: Figger how much space you will need and double it. Plan for bulk item storage under the bench, with doors to keep dust out, and sturdy "book case" shelving above the rear of the bench, to the ceiling if possible.

Place one shelf at nose level to put your powder scale and trickler on, otherwise it will be hard to read.

Corkster posted the bench that I was refering to. IMO, the design of that bench would be perfect for reloading. Throw in a few of your own designs and I bet you couldn't be happier with a different bech. Just way over budget for my needs at the moment.

Huh--, you friends a carpenter, yet he needs plans? I'm no carpenter, I didn't need no stinkin plans.

Seriously, all you're doing is building a box. Now I realize thare's some people that can't do a thing without detailed plans. Such as; this piece is cut 36", it gets put up against this piece, secured with a screw!

Figure out where it will sit, measure the available space, then build accordingly.

Well, since i want it to be a box that is acclimated to reloading, i would like some help, from others who have done all the testing allready. I don't yet have a dedicated place for it, but most likly it will be in my garage (huge stinkin thing, more like a wharehouse, it is about 60'x50' with a 14' ceiling) somewhere just up against the wall......might end up making a room in the garage for it. or a small shed out back.
