The versatile .357

I have a Rossi 92 that I did the Steve Young mods to and is slick as snot, and a Wiley Clapp Ruger GP100 for now. But, I sure would not mind getting a Ruger 77 .357 and a Blackhawk convertible and lastly a Smith model 60 3 incher with the HiViz sights to round out my .357 stable. :D

Do you sacrifice one or two hands at a time with the 360? :)

:D

I initially sacrificed two hands with full-power .357 loads in that 360PD -- that convinced me that one hand was untenable unless I potentially wanted the snubbie embedded in my forehead...

I then scaled back to two hands with medium-power .357's...

It is now a pretty sweet-handling .38+P revolver... JC_cheesy.gif

How many .357s should a shooter own?

I think three Model 13s would be just right:

a) nickel 4"
b) blued 4"
c) blued 3" round butt

But that's just me.

I have several. My 6" Python is my absolute, #1, every time to the range, favorite of all the guns I own. However, if you're just starting you .357 collection, I'd recommend a S&W Model-19 4". Just about the perfect compromise between size, weight, comfort, and accuracy. Just my $0.02 worth. YMMV.

I have two Dan Wesson's, a 715 6VH with an extra 4" barrel and shroud, and a 15-2 6VH with a 4VH barrel and shroud. Eventually, I will get a lever action rifle and an S&W 28, probably in 4". I had a 6&1/2" one years ago and I miss it. A 686 would be nice too. That will be enough.

A 3 inch Model 13 loaded with 158gr .38 spcl +P LSWCHP and a girlfriend called Clarice.....

I've owned a bunch, sold most, miss a few...
Currently, my well-used 4" M66 does it all.
If I had an extra $1200 or so, I'd sure like to try out a Coonan .357 1911.
