I've been thinking of picking up a silenced .22 pistol and I'm looking for some advice. I know the drill about purchasing and there's a class III dealer in town who sells them. I'm asking what would be a good setup at a reasonable price.

I see them all the time at gunshows also but I never paid any attention so my knowledge on the subject is nil.

The cheapest ones I've seen are the Walther P22s with threaded adapter and something like the Bowers suppressor. The whole setup goes for about $400 if I remember correctly. Check out www.tacticalinc.com or www.dndguns.com they got the package deals there.

I thought about getting a P22 to M16 adapter and then a M16 to Mk23 adapter and using my .45acp suppressor on it but it would be cheaper to just get a .22 suppressor, and probably quieter too.

Shhhh,,,be veweee vewee qui-yet,,huh huh huh huh
I dont have one but I've always wanted a ruger MK11 sue-pressed.
I think this setup would be fairly affordable to buy /shoot
Also, if you stick with a screw on type, you can have other guns threaded to accept the suupressoor. Kinda the most quiet for your buck. ;)
check out www.soundtechsilencers.com and read their faq. Pretty interesting stuff.
Gemtech silencers seem to be real popular too.

1911Tuner, The wabbit has many, many fwiends!:what:

Badger, yeah we go shooting together and he's cool with it. He probably hopes he gets here first when I drop dead and that my safes are open.:uhoh: :scrutiny:

Thanks for the sites. Interesting stuff.
